In Memory: Reverend James Marshall Smith
Family and friends of The Reverend James Marshall Smith, who died on June 10 at the age of 85 in his hometown of St. Petersburg, have honored his life and ministry with memorial blessings for United Methodist Cooperative Ministries. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, St. Petersburg, and children Dana Smith, Ormond Beach, Sara Smith, St. Petersburg, Rebecca Tseng Smith, Redwood City, California, Robert Smith, Atlanta, Georgia and Ruth Hughes, Easley, South Carolina, and eleven grandchildren.
Born January 27th, 1927 in St. Petersburg, Jim was on the cradle (infant) roll at First United Methodist Church, St. Petersburg. He was a member of the St. Petersburg High School graduating class of 1944 and a graduate of Emory University, Atlanta, GA, and Boston University School of Theology, Boston, MA.
His ministerial candidacy was sponsored by First United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg and his final service was held there on June 18. As a member of the Florida United Methodist Clergy he faithfully served ten congregations over 50 years including Gulfport United Methodist Church and, in retirement, Pinellas Park United Methodist Church. His dedication and service to the church and the community is celebrated by all who knew him.

Our gratitude goes to Gina and Stan Wilkins and The Kind Mouse Productions.
On June 1, the Postcard Inn on St. Pete Beach was the site of an evening of great food and fun with friends, but that's not all. Over $800 was raised for Pack-A-Sack 4 Kids at this exciting event!
Special thanks go to the following, who provided their time, in-kind gifts, and donations to make the evening such a success.

Annual Scholarship Drive and Tea for Summer Camp
The response to this year's Annual Scholarship Drive and Tea for P.A.S.S. Summer Camp has been "Out of this World."
The drive began in March and was highlighted by a Tea with Lunch held on April 9th at First United Methodist Church of Clearwater. Supporters enjoyed a delicious meal and helped raise $750 in silent auction bids. Scholarship funds have been donated by approximately 80 individuals and 14 UMW, UMM, and other groups. Others helped by providing auction items and volunteer service.
Due to this outpouring of support, the camp was fully funded with a total raised of $15,500. We are so grateful for the generous response from all of you who love to help children reach their full potential!
